Home Visiting Programs
Home visiting programs will help to orient you to community resources and services and to be a patient advocate for you and your baby.  Visiting program staff may be registered nurses, developmental specialists, social service workers, or specialty trained community health workers.  There are a wide variety of programs available and one that may fit your situation.  


Healthy Babies (Verde Valley Medical Center) - Verde Valley
Healthy babies provides childbirth education and preparation; postpartum care of the mother and child, and breastfeeding support.  This service is for prenatal women and after birth up to 30 days postpartum.

Healthy Families (Yavapai Regional Medical Center) - Prescott area
Healthy Families provides support to new moms and families, with individualized parent education, emotional support, group activities, and links to community resources.  This service is for prenatal women with children up to five years old.  Enrollment into Healthy Families is free, but must occur prior to the child turning 3 months.

Parents as Teachers (AZ's Children Association) - Verde Valley
Parents as teachers provides parent education, development and health issues detection, abuse and neglect prevention, and increasing a child's school readiness and success. This service is for prenatal women with children up to age 3.

Bright Start (AZ's Children Association) - Yavapai County
Bright Start teaches parents about infant brain development and how to maximize a baby's potential.  This service is for prenatal women with children up to age six.

Verde Valley Parenting Partnership (Verde Valley Medical Center) - Verde Valley
VV Parenting Partnership provides support via parent education and the promotion of positive parent/child interaction, child health, safety, school readiness and literacy.  This service is for prenatal women with children up to age six.

Health Start (Yavapai County Community Health Services) - Yavapai County
Health Start provides in home support with a focus on the health and development of the child, nutrition, home safety and more.  This service is for low income women who are pregnant, and at-risk women with a child under the age of 2.

Nurse Family Partnership (Yavapai County Community Health Services) - Yavapai County
Registered nurses will make home visits during the pregnancy and after the birth of a baby to educate mothers about labor and delivery, child development, breastfeeding, and how to keep your baby healthy and safe.  This service is for first time, low income mothers, and must be enrolled by the 28th week of pregnancy.

Early Head Start (NACOG) - Yavapai County
Early Head Start is a federally funded community -based program for low-income families with infants and toddlers and pregnant women.  Its mission is to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, to enhance the development of very young children, and to promote healthy family functioning.
